How to make a clasped hands knot?

Step 1: Make a loop with a strand. For the rest of the tutorial, the upper strand will be referred as the working end and bottom strand as the standing end.

Step 2: Tie the first part of the knot

1st, take the working end down and through the first loop, and it will form a second loop as you can see in the picture;

2nd, in a clockwise direction, pass the working end under the standing end;

3rd, take the working end over the three portions of the strand and under the rightmost portion;

4th, pull the second loop and the ends.

Step 3: Continue to tie

1st, loosen the tightened portion on the right and it will form a loop which is the first loop in previous steps;

2nd, pass the left end through the first loop from the front;

3rd, grasp the left end with you left hand;

4th, pass the left end through the loop again.

Step4: See it from the behind as picture shown below.

Step 5: Finish the clasped hands knot

1st, bring the right end under the left end in a clockwise circle;

2nd, pass the right end through the coils you made before;

3rd, repeat the 1st and 2nd steps of this step again;

4th, pull ends and adjust the coils.

Step 6: Done!

So you get a clasped hands knot. In traditional Chinese clothing,clasped hands knots are used as buttons, now clasped hands knots are used more than that.
