How to Make Lovely Beetle Hair Clip for Little Girls

For little girls, cute animal hair clips are favorites. With three ribbon loops, some cabochons as embellishments and two wrapped brass wires as tentacle, you can make a beetle hair clip, how easy it is! And I believe that no one can say this beetle hair clip is not special.

What do you need?

0.5cm Plastic Cabochons half round

0.8mm Brass Wire

1.6cm Satin Ribbon polka dot

0.9cm Satin Ribbon burlywood

1cm Satin Ribbon black

1mm Nylon Thread black

Beak clip

Scissors

Glue gun

How to make an animal hair clip?

Step 1: make an outline of beetle

Cut out a strip of dot ribbon measuring 14cm and make a loop; glue both ends to shape like a drop. Make another two drops with two ribbons respectively measuring 12cm and 10cm. glue half round cabochons full of the largest drop shape with similar interval except the overlapped part. Cut out two 5cm black ribbons and glue them to cover the overlapped part.

Step 2: attach two antennae

Snip two brass wires measuring 4cm or so. Wrap each wire with nylon thread and secure with glue. Bend a radian as antennae. Glue two antennae at backside covered by black ribbons.

Step 3: stick hair clip

Cut a strip of burlywood ribbon which is a little longer than hair clip and glue it to hair clip with wrapping both ends. Stick hair clip with the beetle.
