Ribbon Butterfly Hair Clip Tutorial

Simple tutorials are always popular for crafters; of course you can’t miss such a wonderful and easy butterfly hair clip. With two patterned ribbons, a lace trim and some beads, a stereo butterfly may fly to you. Now let’s have a look at how to make a ribbon butterfly hair clip.

Supplies needed in making ribbon butterfly hair clip:

3.3cm frosted cone Acrylic pendants

1.2cm transparent Acrylic pendants, heart

3mm half round ABS Acrylic cabochons

Iron bead caps

2.5cm satin ribbons

1cm polyester grosgrain ribbon

2.3cm lace trim

Sewing threads

Beak clip

Needle

Scissors

Hot melt gun

Instructions:

Step 1: make a shape of butterfly

1st, cut a strip of grosgrain ribbon and glue it to wrap hair clip including both ends;

2nd, cut a 14cm long satin ribbon with patterns you like, make a loop and glue both ends deviation to the right;

3rd, repeat to make another loop wrapping the first one using a strip of satin ribbon with different pattern measuring 18cm, and then the lace trim with length of 22cm.

Step 2: embellish the butterfly

4th, string 4 heart pendants and sew them on the lace trim;

5th, sew two cone pendants at backside of butterfly;

6th, glue two beads on top of cone pendants;

7th, then attach three cone pendants without beads to the other side in stagger way;

8th, glue a bead cap under two cone pendants with beads;

9th, glue whole butterfly to the hair clip with two round felt gaskets for fastening.
