Coral fringe - branch fringe

Instructions: 

Step 1: Start by making the stem of first coral fringe.

1st, pass a wire through the side of a section of beadwork where you would like the fringe to begin;

2nd, insert beads on wire to desired length. Here, we used 14 beads;

3rd, skip over the last bead strung and pass back through three beads;

4th, strain the wire.

Step 2: Make the first branch of the coral fringe.

1st, slide five beads onto the wire;

2nd, skip over the last bead and pass back through the four beads strung;

3rd, pull the wire tightly;

4th, pass the wire back through at least one bead in the stem of coral fringe.

Step 3: Make other branches on the first coral fringe.

1st, slide as many beads as you would like;

2nd, skip over the last bead and pass the wire back through the three beads strung;

3rd, continue to pass the wire back through two beads in the stem of coral fringe;

4th, pull the wire tightly;

5th, slide six beads onto the wire;

6th, skip over the last bead and pass the wire back through the five beads strung;

7th, strain the wire;

8th, pass the wire back through two beads in the stem of coral fringe;

9th, repeat the same steps as used for previous side branches to make more branch and pass the wire back through the stem of coral fringe;

10th, pass the wire up through the bead adjacent to where the fringe branch is added.

Step 4: Make other coral fringes.

1st, pass the wire down through the next bead over;

2nd, pull the wire tightly;

3rd, repeat previous steps 1 through 3 to make more branches;

4th, weave the wire back through the beadwork to its edge.

Step 5: Knot and cut off the wire at the end of the last fringe. You should get the coral fringe as seen below.
