How to Make Twisted Wire Flowering Branch Necklace

Summary: Here is a video turorial about how to make twisted flowering branch necklace, with the help of the guidance, you can creat your own unique and funny jewelry.

Here we go to learn how to make the twisted wire flowering nranch necklace:

Materials:

-a clasp (I am using a barrel clasp)

-jumprings (I am using 5mm jump rings)

-size 11/0 seed beads (any color of your choice)

-26 gauge wire (any color of your choice)

-chain (I am using cable chain)

Tools:

-wire cutters

-pliers (I am using long nose pliers)

-a ruler

Step 1: Preparing the wire

Cut an 18" length of wire, cut off and bend wire in half. Now form a loop where the wire bends in half. You can do this by bending each half in the opposite direction. Now take your pliers and hold on to the loop, twist the two wires about three times.

Step 2: Forming the flowering branches

Take one of the wire ends and string on 6 seed beads, bend the wire with the seed beads into a loop. Now hold onto the loop with one band and the wires with the other. Twist until you reach the main "branch". Twist the two wires together a few times to form the main branch. Time to make another flowering branch. Just repeat the last two steps. Branches vary in length, so create an interesting piece just by switching up the lengths of the branches with the flowers. Make a long flowering branch. Continue making flowering branches until you almost reach the ends of the wire.

Step 3: Finishing the ends

Hide the ends of the wire as best as you can. For one wire, I made one last branch with a flower and tucked the end within the twists. Then I took the other wire, made a loop, twisted it back, and tucked the end within the twists.

Step 4: Attaching the chain and clasp

I decided to go with an 18" long necklace. So here is how my math went to determine approximately how much chain to cut: my pendant measures about 3 inches. 18 minus 3 equals 15. So I have 15" of chain to cut, but I want to add a clasp. So, I divide 15 by 2 and get 7-1/2. Thus I need two lengths of 7-1/2" of chain. Open a jump ring and attach it to one of the loops on the pendant and one of the chain ends; close the jump ring. Do the same with the other length of chain. Attach the clasp using jump rings as well.

The necklace is finished.
