How to Make Handmade Wire Wrapped Dragonfly Hanging Decoration with Glass Beads

Materials needed for the beading dragonfly hanging decoration:

10x7mm Light Blue Electroplate Faceted Abacus Glass Beads
8x6mm Dark Salmon Faceted Abacus Glass Beads
8x6mm Clear Faceted Abacus Glass Beads
6mm Black Round Imitation Jade Beads
Headpins
0.5mm Tiger Wire
2mm Silver Aluminum Wire
7x11mm Pink Faceted Drop Glass Beads
10mm Yellow Round Jade Beads
Side Cutting Pliers
Chain Nose Pliers
Round Nose Pliers

Instructions on how to make the wire wrapped dragonfly hanging decoration:

Step 1: Make the body of the beading dragonfly

1st, trim off a proper length of aluminum wire, then twist it as a double wave shape like below;
2nd, make a loop at each bottom of the aluminum wire;
3rd, cut off a piece of copper wire, then wrap an end around the twisted aluminum wire and slide two black jade beads on it;
4th, wrap other end of the copper wire around the other side of the aluminum wire;
5th, wrap the copper wire around the connection between the first and second aluminum wire circle, then add a yellow jade bead on the copper wire;
6th, continue to add other two yellow jade beads on the aluminum wire in the same ways.

Step 2: Make the wings of the beading dragonfly

1st, cut off two pieces of aluminum wire and make a loop at each end, then twist it as the wing shape like the showing picture;
2nd, continue to trim off two pieces of aluminum wire and twist them like wave shape like the picture below;
3rd, connect the wave shape aluminum wire on the lower half wing by wrapping a piece of copper wire around the near aluminum wire;
4th, cut off a proper length of copper wire and wrap it around the on the upper half wing;
5th, slide two dark salmon glass beads, a light blue glass bead and five clear glass beads on the copper wire, then wrap it around the near aluminum wire;
6th, make the other wing in the same ways.

Step 3: Finish the dragonfly hanging decoration

1st, hang the wings on the body of the dragonfly by wrapping a piece of copper wire;
2nd, thread a headpin through a pink drop faceted glass bead, then slide a clear glass bead on the headpin and trim off the excess part;
3rd, hang the pink headpin part on the tail of the beading dragonfly by forming a loop at the end of the headpin.
