Summary: Do you love snowflake? Today I will share a beaded snowflake brooch tutorial with you!
Most women would be attracted by the snowflake element in jewelry. Today I made a beaded snowflake brooch, which is a great ornament on clothes in winter. Besides, I add some transparent glass beads in the snowflake pattern in order to make it shinny. Now follow my steps to see how to make it.
Supplies in making the beaded snowflake brooch:
6mm White Pearl Beads
6mm Transparent Faceted Glass Beads
4mm Transparent Faceted Glass Beads
10mm Yellow Pearl Beads
2mm Pearl Seed Beads
2mm Gold Bugle Beads
2mm Silver Bugle Beads
Iron Brooch Pin
0.3mm Copper Wire
Side Cutting Plier
Instructions on making the beaded snowflake pattern:
Step 1: Make a basic star
1st, string a white tube, a 2mm glass seed bead and a tube bead to a copper wire, and then twist and shape it as shown;
2nd, continue to slide tube beads and glass seed beads alternatively,making a basic star;
3rd, cross the end of the wire through the seed bead and tighten;
4th, thread 13 2mm glass seed beads to the wire, and cross the wire through the other seed bead on the bottom of that triangle;
5th, repeat above procedure and connect the other points with seed bead string and finally trim off the extra wire.
Step 2: Add glass and pearl beads
1st, snip off a short copper wire and tie one end to the middle of one glass seed bead string;
2nd, slide 4 4mm faceted glass beads, a 6mm white pearl bead and 2 4mm faceted glass beads to the wire, and tie the other end to the top point of that triangle;
3rd, repeat above process to add the rest glass and pearl strands;
4th, snip off a 30cm copper wire, and slide 3 4mm faceted glass beads on it, and tie to the middle of the seed bead string as pictured;
4th, add 3 glass beads again and tie the wire to the next seed bead string. Repeat this procedure until you make the center part of the star covered by glass beads.
Step 3: Make a seed bead flower pattern
1st, snip off a piece of copper wire (about 40cm) and thread 16 2mm silver bugle beads through it;
2nd, make a flower petal by tie the wire across the original one and continue to thread another 16 2mm silver bugle beads through it;
3rd, wrap and tie the wire to make another petal and repeat the process to make the rest petals;
4th, snip off another piece of copper wire (about 30cm) and thread the wire through a silver bugle bead on the top of one petal, then slide 2 silver bugle beads, a 4mm glass bead and a glass seed bead on the wire and finally thread the wire backward through the 4mm glass bead and tighten up;
5th, slide 2 silver bugle beads to that wire, and then thread the wire through along the bugle beads on the next petal to the homologous position;
6th, repeat the whole process to add the other adornments to the flower pattern.
Step 4: Make enough beaded branches
1st, snip off enough pieces of 20cm copper wires, and then slide a 4mm glass bead and a 2mm glass seed bead to the middle;
2nd, thread the end backwards through the 4mm glass bead and then thread both wires through 4 2mm gold bugle beads;
3rd, thread 3 gold bugle beads, a 4mm faceted glass bead and a 2mm glass seed bead through one wire, and then cross the wire backwards through along the 4mm glass bead and gold bugle beads;
4th, slide the same beads on the other wire and make another branch;
5th, thread the 2 wires through another 3 gold bugle beads again, and then separate them with another 2 branches;
6th, make enough branches in the same way.
Step 5: Add the beaded branched to the basic star
1st, wrap and tie the wires to the beaded flower patterns respectively to make the snowflake pattern;
2nd, insert the snowflake on the center of the basic star;
3rd, trim off the excessive wires and stick a 10mm yellow pearl bead to the center of the snowflake pattern.
Step 6: Finish the beaded snowflake brooch
Stick an iron brooch pin to the back of the beaded star and snowflake pattern.
