If you love beading and want to make your own beadwork, this pearl and crystal necklace may be a great project to get into. It can be as simple or ornate as you prefer, although it will look as if you spent weeks finishing the final project.

Things you’ll need in the crystal pearl necklace:

8mm Glass Pearls
6mm Electroplate Glass Crystals
3mm Silver Lined Seed Beads
2mm Electroplate Glass Seed Beads
0.38mm Tiger Tail
0.3mm Nylon Wire
Lobster Claw Clasp
Chain
Headpin
Wire Cutter Pliers
Round Nose Pliers
Flat Nose Pliers

How to start the necklace with pearls and crystals?

Step1. Cut a fairly long strand of wire (the maximum length you can handle with), remove the cured tips. Then, attach the clasp on one end by using a crimp bead.

Step2. Start to bead the Pattern A

a. You will need to add the following beads on wire: two 3mm Silver Lined Seed Beads, one 8mm Glass Pearl, two 3mm Silver Lined Seed Beads and twelve 2mm Electroplate Glass Seed Beads.
b. Pass the wire back through the 3mm Silver Lined Seed Beads, 8mm Glass Pearl and starting four of the 2mm Seed Beads.
c. Add one 6mm Electroplate Glass Crystal, five 2mm Seed Beads and one 6mm Electroplate Glass Crystal. Take the wire and pass it back through the 3rd and 4th 2mm silver seed beads for a loop. Then continue passing the wire through the 5th and 6th 2mm silver seed beads.
d. Add one 6mm Electroplate Glass Crystal and five 2mm Seed Beads, and then thread the wire through the 6mm Electroplate Glass Crystal in previous loop. Thread back through the 5th and 6th 2mm silver seed beads for another loop. Then continue passing the wire through the next 7th and 8th 2mm silver seed beads.
e. Repeat the processes “d” for another three loops.
f. Once finish the crystal loops, thread the wire through the following beads: two 3mm Silver Lined Seed Beads, one 8mm Glass Pearl, two 3mm Silver Lined Seed Beads and two 2mm Electroplate Glass Seed Beads, finally exit it at the first 6mm Electroplate Glass Crystal.

Step3. Start to bead the Pattern B

a. Add the following beads on wire: five 2mm Electroplate Glass Seed Beads, one 6mm Electroplate Glass Crystal, two 2mm Electroplate Glass Seed Beads, two 3mm Silver Lined Seed Beads, one 8mm Glass Pearl and two 3mm Silver Lined Seed Beads.
b. Pass the wire through the 6mm Electroplate Glass Crystal (which the wire exit at) and then the five 2mm Electroplate Glass Seed Beads, one 6mm Electroplate Glass Crystal, two 2mm Electroplate Glass Seed Beads.

Step4. How to add the next Pattern A

a. Add the following beads on wire: two 3mm Silver Lined Seed Beads, one 8mm Glass Pearl, two 3mm Silver Lined Seed Beads and ten 2mm Electroplate Glass Seed Beads.
b. Pass the wire back through the two 2mm Electroplate Glass Seed Beads in previous Pattern B, then the 3mm Silver Lined Seed Beads, 8mm Glass Pearl and starting four of the 2mm Seed Beads.
c~ f are absolutely as same as that in step 2.

Step5. Complete the crystal pearl necklace

a. Repeat the Pattern A & B until getting the desired bracelet length.
b. Attach the clasp on the other end of wire by using crimp bead.
c. Weave the leftover wire through the beads to get it stuck. Trim off the excess if possible.

Step6. Make a decorative dangle

Take a headpin and 6mm deep-blue crystal, make a dangle and then attach to the end of chain.

Congratulations!

In this necklace, I choose to use some deep-blue electroplated glass crystals in the center to make it more sparkling and lovely. If you prefer a vintage pattern, try the combination of just pearls and seed beads.

You say to use as long a length piece of wire as you can manage. What if you run out of wire while making the necklace, how would you carry on? How do you attach another piece of wire to continue working?
