Unique Ring Design – How to Make a Cool Gold Flower Ring with Glass Beads

My "Waltz of the Flowers" collection including this gold flower ring was inspired by Tchaikovsky's famous music from "The Nutcracker" ballet. Yulia did not like the trivial way in which flowers are commonly used in jewellery making. So she looked for a shape which embeds motion and only suggest a hint about flowers. Using ballet was an obvious solution. That is how this cool gold ring collection was born. Below I describe, step-by-step, how she made this cool metal ring.

Materials needed in making this cool gold plated ring

Golden metal
Glass bead
Glass pearl bead
Fretsaw

Instructions on how to make a cool gold flower ring

Step1: Cut a whirlwind shape from metal

1st, the most important step is to come up with a design. The whirlwind design should be implemented in a sketch (by hand or computer);
2nd, put the whirlwind shape onto metal and use a fretsaw to cut the required piece according to it.
3rd, finish the shaped piece by acid treatment, cleaning and polishing, pocessing the edges (e.g. smoothing).

 

Step2: Shaping the piece into a flower ring pattern

1st, put the whirlwind piece onto the fire to shape it into a flower pattern;
2nd, shape a ring base by adding a golden circle onto the back, solder it on the finger part of the ring;
3rd, then polish and coat with gold and adding glass beads and pearl.

 

Let it cool, then try it on your finger. TADA!
