How to Make a Rosette out of Ribbon in Fresh Spring Style

Today I would like to show my fun idea about making a cute rosette out of pink and green ribbons. This ribbon rosette tutorial is quite different from others I have learnt, which is easy to understand and handle. Next I will show the detailed instructions.

Necessities for DIY ribbon rosette:

Pink satin ribbon
Green satin ribbon
Pink sewing thread
Green sewing thread
Grey felt
Needle
Glue gun
Scissors
Chalk

How to make a rosette out of ribbon:

Step 1: Stitch pattern onto felt

1st, draw on grey felt a radiative 5-stitch flower pattern;
2nd, stitch along the pattern with pink sewing thread;
3rd, at the last stitch get pink ribbon involved in;
4th, trim off excess pink thread.

Step 2: Start DIY ribbon rosette

1st, counter clockwise lead pin ribbon over adjoining stitch and go through the next stitch;
2nd, keep skipping over the adjoining stitch and going through the next stitch circle after circle;
3rd, never stop the process until the stitches are fulfilled;
4th, again sew the ribbon onto felt and cut off excess ribbon;
5th, melt cutting end with lighter.

Step 3: Prepare green leaves

1st, sew leaves pattern onto green ribbon with green sewing thread;
2nd, cut them out with scissors;
3rd, melt cutting ends with lighter;
4th, hot glue the ribbon leaves adjoining to rosette;
5th, cut out the whole rosette.

Step 4: Attach ribbon rosette onto hair tie

1st, hot glue hair tie onto the backside of rosette;
2nd, cut another piece of felt and cover it above the hair tie part.

Finally DIY ribbon rosette looks like this:

Now you have learnt the new way about how to make a rosette out of ribbon. In this tutorial, I display what it will look when combining to hair ties; besides it can be attached onto brooch finding and becomes a rosette brooch, or onto chains and becomes a chic pendant for necklace and earrings.
