Make Your Own V-shape Shirt Collar Necklace out of Lace, Ribbon and Chain

Compared with most necklace design ideas, a free collar pattern allows a crafter to expand her range of necklace making career wider and wider while adds more sparkles and possibility around the neck. Here, by using a length of 80cm ribbon, two strands of 20cm twisted chain, two pieces of 20cm lace trims and a stack of bead tips, even a beginner can make a collar necklace within an hour.

Supplied needed in the DIY collar necklace:

Golden Twisted Chains
Purple Satin Ribbon
White Lace Trims
Antique Bronze Bead Tips
Wire Cutter Pliers (optional)
Scissors

How to start making your own V-shape shirt collar necklace?

Step 1: Prepare two strands of chain

Remove two strands of chain to approximately 20~23cm long.

Step 2: Attach the bead tips to the lace trim

1st, pass the “box” of bead tip through the holes on border;
2nd, close the “boxes” by pinching with fingers;
3rd, stop when the length is as same as the prepared chain strand.

Step 3: Hook the chain links

1st, open the attachment loops, hook the chain links one by one (sometimes two hooks need to share one same chain link). Then, close the loops with pliers (or fingers);
2nd, remove the excess lace;


3rd, make another unit in same way.

Step 4: Add the satin ribbon

1st, cut a length of satin ribbon to approximately 70cm;
2nd, attach a short wire strand as needle. Then weave the starting 30cm ribbon through the chain link up and down;


3rd, take the 30cm ribbon on other end and weave through the second chain.

Step 5: Wear the lace collar necklace

Wear the collar necklace and then secure by tying a bowknot with excess ribbons.

Though it is tedious and time-consuming process to connect the chain and lace trim by using bead tips one by one, but if you get the hang of it, this will make a great help while making your own collar necklace.
