How to make the finger chocker necklace with beads and chain?
Step 1: Prepare the essential chain segments
For a standard choker necklace, 23 lengths are required. As the following picture shows are:
10pcs. 1-rhinestone strand
2pcs. 3-rhinestone strand
2pcs. 5-rhinestone strand
2pcs. 7-rhinestone strand
2pcs. 9-rhinestone strand
2pcs. 11-rhinestone strand
2pcs. 13-rhinestone strand
1pc. 15-rhinestone strand
Step 2: Wrap the rhinestone strands onto the middle of leather cord
1st, measure a length of leather cord 20cm longer than your neck circumference;
2nd, find and mark the center location on leather cord;
3rd, cut an 80cm long length of 0.5mm copper wire and fasten on leather cord with several wraps;
4th, slide the 1pc. 1-rhinestone strand and secure with several wraps;
5h, add the rest 4pcs. 1-rhinestone strands and fix on the leather cord in same way;
6th, before adding the 3-rhinestone strand, you need to open the rhinestone bead carefully by using a bead reamer and pliers firstly. Next, pass the copper wire through the opened rhinestone bead and push the chain upwards to the leather cord. Finally, close the rhinestone bead and secure the strand with 4~5 wraps;
7th, repeat the same process above to add the 5-rhinestone strand and rest chain strands for a fringe necklace focus;
8th, direct the excess wire to the gap between the last two rhinestone bead. Trim off the leftover wire after getting it stuck.
Step 3: Adorn the chain ends with one bead dangle
1st, string one 8mm cat eye bead with headpin;
2nd, keep 1cm pin part above the bead;
3rd, fold the tip with pliers and this is a bead dangle;
4th, open the last rhinestone bead as you did in step 2;
5th, insert the folded pin part into the rhinestone bead. Close the rhinestone bead;
6th, attach a bead dangle on end of the rest chain.
Step 4: Tie two sliding knots
For making a natural closure, the sliding knot might be a pretty choice. Tighten the knots and remove the excess leather!
Done!
