Pictured Demonstration on Braiding a Two-color Fishtail Friendship Bracelet Pattern

In my previous tutorial, I've showed How to Make a Two-Color Woven Fishtail Friendship Bracelet by using two working ends and two holding ends. Today, this two-color braided friendship bracelet pattern is a bit similar to that one in the appearance, but a far cry from the making method.

Supplies needed for braiding the friendship bracelets:

0.8mm Waxed Cord
Scissors
Lighter (assistive)

How to start the braided friendship bracelet pattern?

Step 1: Prepare the cords and make a loop at center

1st, take the blue and orange waxed cords and cut 5 lengths for each cord, one 100cm strand and nine 80cm strands;
2nd, align one end of all cords and fold in half against the index finger;


3rd, pick out the longest cord and start to wrap around the middle 3cm part. Loop the part and secure with an overhand knot.

Step 2: Start to braid the fishtail pattern

1st, pin the loop on a desk and divide the two colors into two groups;
2nd, number the blue and orange cord ends (or marked with colorful threads in sequence as the last picture show);
3rd, direct the 1st blue cord end to the right side and then the 1st orange cord end to the left side;
4th, repeat the same process with the 2nd blue and orange cords, the 3rd, 4th…10th blue and orange ones;
5th, tighten the 1~10 cord ends of each cord in order;


6th, repeat the five processes above another more times;


7th, stop when get a comfortable length for the bracelet.

Step 3: Complete the bracelet

Tie an overhand knot at end. Keep 1cm for each cord end and trim off the excess.
