Making a Personalized Braided Leather Bracelet with Cubic Beads and Snake Knots
Summary: Here is a simple guide that will show you how to make a personalized braided bracelet with cubic acrylic beads, wood beads and brown leather cords.
In the braided and beaded leather bracelet tutorial, I principally utilize two common knots, and they are snake knot and double connection knot, which are not hard to learn, though it may take a few tires to get them right.
Necessities for this beaded and braided leather bracelet:
1mm brown leather cord
8mm skyblue cube acrylic beads
8mm yellow cube acrylic beads
8mm darkblue wood beads
6mm electroplated abacus acrylic beads
Scissors
Instructions on making the beaded and braided leather bracelet:
Step 1: Braid and bead
1st, cut two pieces of leather cord, and both measure about 60cm;
2nd, leave 10cm tails and make a double connection knot with the two strands;
3rd, string a skyblue cubic bead onto both strands;
4th, then braid two snake knots and tighten the strands;
5th, continue beading and knotting;
6th, the last knot is double connection knot.
Step 2: Finish two braided bracelets
1st, string 3 wood beads onto strands from each end;
2nd, the first bracelet is done;
3rd, repeat above step and make a second bracelet with yellow cubic beads.
Step 3: Make adjustable clasp
1st, pile the second bracelet onto first;
2nd, overlap the tails of both bracelets;
3rd, cut a 18cm length of leather cord and braid square knots around the tails;
4th, add abacus beads onto tails, leave appropriate lengths and do overhand knots;
5th, cut off excess leather cords.
The beaded and braided leather bracelet looks like:
Tada! I have finished this cool braided leather bracelet. After some tries, I find snake knots and double connection knots become much simpler to do. I hope you can learn some useful knotting skills from this braided leather bracelet tutorial.
