A Cat Pattern for Making an Embroidered Felt Hair Clip

There is a cute and simple cat hair clip which can be made just with felt, sewing thread and some simple tools. Making this embroidered felt cat hair clip involves a combination of felt cutting and backward stitch. Both are simple techniques. I believe you can handle it well even if you are a novice in embroidering.

Materials and tools for making an embroidered felt cat hair clip:

3mm Acrylic Beads Imitation Pearl, Round, Ivory
Sewing Thread, Gold
Felt, Brown
Hair Barrette
Needle
Scissors
Hot Glue Gun (Not Shown)

How to make an embroidered felt cat hair clip?

Step 1: cut out cat shape

1st, cut out a rectangle from brown felt measuring 7*6cm. Trace a template of cat with a rectangular base measuring 7*2cm on the felt as shown and cut the shape off;
2nd, sew two imitation pearls on the cat as eyes.

Step 2: sew patterns and glue hair barrette

1st, backward stitch some patterns you like on the rectangular base with gold thread;
2nd, glue the hair barrette at back with a rectangular felt at the bottom.

When it comes to felt and thread, the possibilities are endless! In this felt hair clip, the pattern I provided is a cat. Here I embroidered a tennis racket, a blender and a cup that are my favorites and a fish which is cat’s favorite, but you can feel free to make anything you like.
