Step By Step Project on Making Red Fox Brooch with Felt and Agate Bead
Summary: Don’t you want to make a cute red fox brooch? Follow my project and learn the simple way about making fox brooch with felts and agate beads.
In this project, the lead is a lovely red fox. I think this fox will remind you of the like one in Little Prince. That cute fox tells us something important, like “it is only with heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye”, and which is often repeated by us. Here I am glad to make this felt fox brooch and share the project with others.
Necessities for the felt fox brooch:
Red felt
White felt
Brown felt
6mm black glass beads
8mm agate bead
Brooch finding
Yellow sewing thread
Black sewing thread
Needle
Scissors
Glue gun
Chalk
Instructions on how to make a felt fox brooch:
Step 1: Create the outline of fox
1st, outline a fox on red felt, draw its ears on brown felt and its face on white felt;
2nd, cut out the patterns;
3rd, do blanket stitch with yellow thread along the edge of fox pattern;
4th, use blanket stitch to fix brown ears onto red fox pattern;
5th, then continue blanket stitch along the fox’s edge.
Step 2: Make fox’s face
1st, sew 6mm black bead onto white face with black sewing thread;
2nd, when finishing eyes, embroider the fox’s mouth;
3rd, then outline the face with yellow sewing thread;
4th, sew agate bead upon the mouth, that is, fox’s nose is done.
Step 3: Finish the fox brooch
Glue pin back onto back side of the red fox.
The final felt fox brooch looks like this:
Tada! I have done the fox brooch project. I think it is a pretty good way to commemorate Antoine de Saint-Exupéry who created this distinct fox.
