Christmas Ideas on Making a Pom Pom Hair Clip in Red and Green

When making the lifelike Christmas tree decoration, it occurred to me that I could make a pom pom hair clip which is perfect for Christmas too. It will also be pretty if you wear it after Christmas. The pom pom hair clip is made of felt and embellished with imitation pearls. Hope you like it!

Materials and tools for making a felt pom pom hair clip in red and green:

Felt (Dark Red & Dark Green)
8mm Acrylic Beads Imitation Pearl, Round, Coconut Brown
Hair Barrette
Scissors
Hot Glue Gun

How to make a felt pom pom hair clip?

Step 1: make a felt pom pom

1st, cut out five strips from dark red felt and five shorter strips from dark green felt. The size of pom pom is dependent on the length of the strip which can be determined by you own;
2nd, trim one long side of each strip into tassels;
3rd, take one dark red strip and start to roll it from one end;
4th, glue the end when finish rolling. A felt pom pom is finished.

Step 2: finish the hair clip

1st, do the same to make the remaining pom poms;
2nd, cut out another dark red strip to cover the surface of hair barrette and secure with glue;
3rd, glue the pom poms on the hair barrette with the way you like;
4th, intersperse some imitation pearls to decorate the pom poms and glue for securing.

Done!

The finished pom pom hair clip turns out too big, you may not tell from the picture. You can reduce the amount of felt pom poms or diminish the size of them while making. Hope this Christmas craft instructions could give you some inspiration for crafting.
