Tutorial on Wire Wrapping “Pursuing Love Man” Earrings for Beginners
Summary: This tutorial is going to teach beginners a simple wire wrapping earring pattern. It is a very fun pattern that displays a man raising arms to form heart shape.
This tutorial is inspired by a TV program that I used to watch. According to the game member and program theme, I create this matchstick-men-like wire wrapped earrings and name it “pursuing love man”. As it is simple to wire wrap, I think it is very suitable for beginners.
Necessities for the wire wrapped earrings tutorial:
1.5mm orange red aluminum wire
0.5mm copper wire
6mm ivory glass pearls
Iron earring hooks
Round nose plier
Flat nose plier
Wire cutter
Instructions on wire wrapping for beginners:
Step 1: wire wrap pursuing love man
1st, cut a 20cm length of aluminum wire and loop the center with plier;
2nd, wrap two half circle with round nose, so the heart shape is done;
3rd, assemble wire ends together at the heart’s cusp;
4th, start coiling 0.5mm brass wire around left wire end;
5th, slide a pearl bead onto brass wire and coil it around right end;
6th, cut off excess wire;
7th, pick another long piece of brass wire and coil around both ends;
8th, while coiling, slightly open the wire ends;
9th, cut off excess brass wire, crimp down the coils with flat nose plier, and the body is done;
10th, curl wire ends into running posture;
11th, cut off excess aluminum wire and flatten sharp ends.
Step 2: finish the wire wrapped earrings
Attach ear hook to the first loop in step 1.
The final wire wrapped earrings look like:
Tada! The fun pursuing love man earrings are done. Besides “pursuing love” posture, what others can you create? For fantastic pattern, you need to think out of the box.
