Tutorial on Making Cute Flower Baby Headbands with Buttons

Last week, I made a headband with five bows, and yesterday I made this headband with five felt flowers. I seem like addicted to ‘five’, and there are no special reasons, I just like the way they gather together. This is a cute headband especially designed for baby. The headband is carefully wrapped with ribbon so it won’t hurt baby’s head. Actually it is also perfect for kids matched with a flower cuff bracelet.

How to make a felt flower baby headband?

Step 1: wrap headband and make a felt flower

1st, cut out a long enough satin ribbon and wrap the headband with it at an angle. Make sure every layer covers the edge of previous layer to avoid pricking. When getting to both ends, wrap the ribbon several times and secure with glue or thread;
2nd, cut out seven or eight heart shapes with flat bottom from each felt measuring about 3cm as flower petals;
3rd, fold each yellow flower petal along the middle line and thread the bottom sides with similar thread to link them;
4th, pull the thread tightly, and adjust all petals as a flower. Sew both ends to make a felt flower.

Step 2: make all felt flowers and finish the headband

1st, do the same to make another four felt flowers in different colors;
2nd, glue five felt flowers on the headband in place firmly;
3rd, attach an acrylic cabochon to the center of each flower;
4th, glue a couple of buttons at each side of the headband in a row, just next to the flowers.

If you want to make this felt flower headband more special, why not try to attach different beads to each felt flower? The most notable thing when making a headband for baby is that you have to pick a plastic or iron headband with appropriate size. It will be great if you make a cute flower headband for your baby or kid.
