Making a Large Three-Layer Red Ribbon Flower Brooch Step by Step

Ribbon flower brooches are versatile accessories to make you unique. If you are the one who loves wearing brooches, you will find that wearing brooches made by yourself is so cool! This large flower brooch is made of red and green ribbons which is also suitable for Christmas. I created three different ribbon flowers and added four long ribbon tails in this brooch for a distinctive look.

Materials and tools for making a red ribbon flower brooch:

10mm Pearl Beads Strand, Round, Yellow
38mm Satin Ribbon, Red
10mm Satin Ribbon, Green
6mm Satin Ribbon, Green
Sewing Thread
Brooch Finding (Not Shown)
Needle
Scissors
Hot Glue Gun (Not Shown)
Hair Barrette (Not Use)

How to make a large red ribbon flower brooch?

Step 1: make a large red ribbon flower

1st, cut out a strip of red ribbon measuring 6cm or so. Fold it in half and running stitch both ends;
2nd, cut out another five 6cm long strips and six 4cm long strips from red ribbon;
3rd, running stitch all 6cm long ribbon strips in the same way as the first step;
4th, pull the thread tightly and sew both ends to make a ribbon flower.

Step 2: make a small red ribbon flower and a green ribbon flower

1st, do the same to make a small ribbon flower with all 4cm long ribbon strips;
2nd, cut out six strips from 10mm wide green ribbon measuring about 8cm;
3rd, loop each strip with crossing both ends and secure with glue as petals;
4th, glue all green petals as a flower shape on the large red ribbon flower.

Step 3: add ribbon tails and brooch finding

1st, glue the small red ribbon flower on the green ribbon flower;
2nd, glue a pearl bead in the center of the small red ribbon flower;
3rd, cut out four strips from 6cm wide green ribbon with different lengths and glue one end of them to the backside of the ribbon flowers;
4th, glue a brooch finding at back.
