Fancy Idea about Making Dangling Sunflower Earrings with Beads

I love sunflowers, as they are usually associated with warmth and positiveness; more specifically, sunflowers and sunflower crafts always remind me of sunny weather, infectious smiles and real happiness. So I summon up all my nerves to make this sunflower dangling earrings.

The necessities for this sunflower craft idea:

Bright yellow felt
Brown felt
4mm brown seed beads
4mm red seed beads
10mm red acrylic beads
Yellow sewing thread
Brown sewing thread
Golden ear hooks
Golden head pins
Flat nose plier
Round nose plier
Wire cutter
Needle
Glue gun
Scissors

Then how to make sunflower dangling earrings:

Step 1: Make the petals of sunflower

1st, on yellow felt, outline the petal shape and on brown felt, draw a circle resembling flower’s center;
2nd, cut out the petal shapes;
3rd, make basting stitches with needle on petal shapes;
4th, tighten thread and make a knot;
5th, cut off excess thread and the petal is done;
6th, each sunflower needs 7 petals.

Step 2: Finish the dangling sunflower

1st, cut out brown circle;
2nd, glue petals onto the circle;
3rd, cut another small circle, and sew brown seed beads onto it;
4th, glue this beaded circle onto flower’s center;
5th, prepare a red beaded dangle;
6th, sew it between the two petals of the sunflower.

Step 3: Attach ear hook

Sew a loop on the petal that is just opposite to the bead dangle and attach ear hook to it.

Now I have done my dangling sunflower earrings! In this project, I took more time on sewing than I expected, because I needed to focus on sewing work that I am not every good at. The pair of dangling earrings takes a whole afternoon, which is not an exaggeration.
