Make a White Felt Camellia Flower Hair Clip with Beads for Your Own
Summary: This time I make a white felt camellia hair clip with simple camellias rather than very delicate and lifelike ones. Though simple, they are still gorgeous!
Just a personal view, I think making hair accessories with beads and felt or ribbons is a wonderful choice. You can create quite a lot of fabulous hair accessories by changing these materials endlessly with your light hands and awesome tutorials. Here is one of those awesome tutorials on making a camellia flower hair clip. You will get a big surprise for its beauty!
What do you need for making a camellia hair clip?
6mm Acrylic Beads Imitation Pearl, Round (Olive & Light Yellow)
8mm Acrylic Beads Imitation Pearl, Round (Dark Green & Olive)
10mm Acrylic Cabochons, Half Round, White
Acrylic Cabochons, Half Round, Mixed Size, Mixed Color
Felt (White & Light Green & Green)
Hair Barrette
Scissors
Hot Glue Gun
How to make a camellia hair clip with beads?
Step 1: make three felt camellias
1st, cut out some round pieces with different sizes from white felt, two leaves from light green felt and two larger leaves from green felt. Trim the white round pieces into spirals, just like you peel an apple;
2nd, roll every spirals along the cutting line to make a layered effect;
3rd, lay smaller spirals on larger ones until you get the desired camellias and secure with glue;
4th, I cut two more leaves here because I find that six leaves looks more beautiful. Arrange leaves and camellias either as the picture shows or in the way you like.
Step 2: add beads and hair barrette
1st, glue a 10mm white cabochon in the center of each camellia;
2nd, cluster some beads around the center bead;
3rd, glue a hair barrette at the back of the flowers with a piece of felt as gasket.
Here is the final look:
In this camellia hair clip, the most fulfilling thing for me is the color match. White flowers, different green leaves, green and white beads with a few bright color beads, so pretty! How do you think of it?
