Making a Vintage TV Set Pendant Necklace with Felts and Seed Beads

Do you remember the old-fashioned TV set that was used in family at your very early age? I do still remember that kind of machine was a round-cornered rectangular monitor with various buttons at right side, chunky and cute! As inspired by the idea, I make this beaded TV set pendant necklace tutorial.

How to make beaded vintage TV set pendant necklace:

Step 1: Make TV’s no-signal pattern

1st, outline the bezel with chalk on white felt;
2nd, cut out two such patterns;
3rd, cut 3 4mm*6mm black rectangles;
4th, glue them onto one white circle, imitating the black&white color blocks of no signal;
5th, sew 2 columns of yellow seed beads below the leftmost black block;
6th, then sew blue beads, green beads, pink beads and navy beads, which are assembled together and imitate the colorful stripes;
7th, tie a firm knot at the back side of white circle and cut off excess sewing thread.

Step 2: Add the TV set’s aerial

1st, pick the other white circle and glue it onto bronze bezel;
2nd, cut two aerials out of brown felt;
3rd, insert aerials in between the two white circles;
4th, glue the circles together.

Step 3: Finish the beaded pendant necklace

1st, prepare a bead dangle and a mushroom pendant;
2nd, attach both to the bottom loop of the TV set pendant;
3rd, attach the whole beaded pendant to a 42cm length of bronze chain;
4th, combine two end links of the chain together with a jump ring.
