Summary: This spiral knot polymer clay bracelet is an easy micro-macramé project for beginners. Here, I will show you how to make the spiral bracelet in a rapid way with step-by-step photos!
As a traditional art of tying decorative knots, macramé is not just for gaudy plant hangers or retro wall hangings now. Here, I will show you a primary macramé bracelet instruction for making a new wearable spiral bracelet with polymer clay flower beads. Additionally, I also make an adjustable closure for my bracelet that features two dainty handmade porcelain beads. You’ll love it so much as I do!
Supplies needed for making the spiral bracelet:
Polymer Clay Beads
Handmade Porcelain Beads
1mm Nylon Thread
Lighter
Scissors
How to make a floral spiral bracelet?
Step 1: Cut two lengths of 1mm nylon thread, measuring 40cm and 80cm long;
Step 2: Fold the two nylon threads to find the center location. Then, take the shorter cord and start to wrap around the longer one for 2~3cm long;
Step 3: Loop the wrapping area and continually doing another 4~6 wrappings. Finally, secure the wraps by two half hitches;
Step 4: Regard the two shorter cords as holding ends, then do the spiral knot using left cord only;
Step 5: When the spiral knots area reaches 4cm, stop to slide one polymer clay flower bead on the holding end. Then, secure with 8~10 half knots;
Step 6: Repeat the 5th step above for another 5 times and then do the same knotted pattern as did in 4th step;
Step 7: Trim off the excess working ends and seal by using lighter;
Step 8: Slide one handmade porcelain bead on two holding end to form a natural adjustable closure!
Done!
Voilà! Congratulations for your achievement of this polymer clay bracelet! The braiding or knotting of the nylon threads creates a strong cord bracelet while the dainty purple polymer clay flower beads constitute an unparalleled decorative embellishment.
