Making a Chunky Birdie Decoration with Colorful Felt and Beads

I am in the cool autumn days, longing for a fluffy hanging decoration. So I make a felt bird decoration with soft felts and small beads. As you can see, it never contains any complexity in this tutorial, whim yourself up to make the “one of a kind” version of hanging felt bird decoration.

Deep pink felt sheet
Pale pink felt sheet
Orange felt sheet
4mm white and black painted glass beads
3mm pink glass seed beads
Cord loop with lobster
Pink sewing thread
Needle
Jump ring

Instructions on how to make hanging felt bird decoration:

Step 1: Prepare felt bird pattern

1st, draw bird’s body on deep pink felt, wing on pale pink felt and beak on orange felt;
2nd, cut them out, and there are two body pattern, one beak pattern and one wing pattern.

Step 2: Make felt bird decoration

1st, evenly sew pink seed beads onto the edge of wing pattern;
2nd, decide the eye’s position on one body pattern and sew black glass bead onto it;
3rd, around the black pupil, sew white beads around which resembles the whites of eye;
4th, sew orange beak onto the other body pattern;
5th, fix a jump ring onto the body pattern by sewing;
6th, glue two body patterns together.

Step 3: Finish the hanging bird decoration

1st, glue bird’s wing onto body part;
2nd, attach the hanging decoration onto cord loop.
