Wire Wrapping Half-Moon Shaped Earrings with Aluminum Wire and Agate Beads

I believe all of you must be familiar with wire wrapping which has been well known as one of the oldest techniques for handmade jewelry. In today’s tutorial, I would like to show you the old and practical technique and finish a long dangly pair of wire wrapped earrings.
Materials and tools for the long wire wrapped earrings:
1.5mm brown aluminum wire
0.5mm brown brass wire
8mm agate beads
Bronze earring hooks
Round nose plier
Flat nose plier
Wire cutter
Instructions on wire wrapping the long dangly earrings:
Step 1: Wire wrap half-moon
1st, cut 3 pieces of aluminum wire, respectively 6cm, 8cm and 10cm;
2nd, loop the ends of the wires;
3rd, bend them into half-moon shape;
4th, cut a long piece of brass wire and coil 5 times around the 8cm aluminum wire;
5th, add 6cm aluminum wire and coil twice around them;
6th, continue to coil twice around 8cm aluminum wire;
7th, add 10cm aluminum wire and coil twice around the bottom two;
8th, back to coil twice around the middle wire;
9th, repeat to finish the coiling.
Step 2: Add bead dangles to half-moon
1st, pick a 10cm length of brass wire and do coiling at one end;
2nd, slide an agate bead onto brass wire;
3rd, make a wire wrapped loop and cut off excess wire;
4th, repeat to make a pair of bead dangles.
Step 3: Finish the wire wrapped earrings
1st, attach bead dangles to the half-moon;
2nd, add ear hook to the half-moon and repeat above steps to make the other one.
