How to Make a Woven Leather Cuff Bracelet - Beginner Tutorial
Summary: This is a beginners’ tutorial about making leather cuff out of a wide leather strap, in an extremely way! No fancy tools or knotting skills required.
From a beaded leather cord bracelet to a wide &thick leather cuff, the most frequent use of a leather material now is for appearance’s sake. And as the diverse findings added they always come in a wide variety of patterns and styles. Here, I’ll show you how to make a woven leather cuff in 3 easy steps. Easy but creative!
Supplies needed for the woven leather bracelet:
Wide Leather Strap
6mm Pink Suede Cord
2mm Nylon Thread
Flat Round Wood Bead
Bead Reamer
Scissors
Jewelry Knife
Hot Melt Glue Gun (not shown)
How to make the woven leather cuff?
Step 1: Cut the center of leather strap
1st, measure a piece of leather strap around your wrist, about 20cm here;
2nd, divide the leather strap into 5 equal parts. And then mark the center 3 parts;
3rd, draw several 5mm-wide lines to help cut;
4th, keep 3mm on two sides and then cut along the lines.
Step 2: Create the central woven pattern
1st, cut a 15cm piece of suede cord;
2nd, twist each two leather segments by using the bead reamer;
3rd, weave the suede cord up and down through the two twisted leather segments;
4th, repeat the processes above and you’ll get the focus of your woven leather bracelet;
5th, keep 1cm on each end of suede cord and then secure with dabs of glue.
Step 3: Make an adjustable closure
1st, punch a small hole per end of the leather strap;
2nd, thread the 2mm nylon thread through the holes;
3rd, slide one flat-round wood bead as closure. Knot the two thread ends into a bow and done!
