Making Cloud and Raindrop Bag Ornament with Felt and Beads

What do you do when your weekend meets rainy days? Sit idly and watch some boring soap opera series, or just lie on bed wakefully, cursing the damn weather? Never do those things! Why not cheer up and follow this felt ornament tutorial to make a cute cloud&raindrop ornament for handbags?

Materials and tools needed to make the felt bag ornament:

1mm blue nylon thread
Blue sewing thread
Gray sewing thread
Colorful mother of pearl buttons
8mm blue abacus glass beads
6mm black abacus glass beads
Needle
Glue gun
Chalk
Scissors
Bead reamer (optional)

Instructions on making the felt bag ornament:

Step 1: Make the basic layer of cloud and raindrops

1st, draw the cloud and raindrops pattern on felt sheets;
2nd, cut out a pair of cloud pattern, 3 pairs of raindrop pattern;
3rd, pick a cloud and three raindrops, and punch holes on them;
4th, cut a piece of blue nylon thread, thread it through the holes on raindrop and cloud;
5th, keep about 3cm length between cloud and raindrop and tie overhand knots at both ends;
6th, similarly combine the other two drops with cloud.

Step 2: finish the facial layer of cloud and raindrops

1st, pick the rest raindrops and sew blue abacus beads onto them;
2nd, sew black abacus beads onto bottom edge of the other felt cloud;
3rd, then sew shell beads to embellish the cloud;
4th, glue the cloud onto the basic layer, and same with the raindrops.

Step 3: finish the felt ornament

1st, prepare a small patch of gray felt and a knotted blue thread loop;
2nd, put thread loop onto the back of the cloud, and secure the loop by gluing gray patch onto it.
