Unique Purple Ribbon Bow Hair Clip with Pearl Charms Tutorial

The bows in common ribbon bow hair clips are usually like bowties. I don’t want all my ribbon hair bows are this type, so I come up with this fancy one with two unique irregular bows which each bow is made of two separate parts and different materials. For making this ribbon hair bow, I choose purple as main color and white pearls as embellishments. Let’s see how fantastic it is!

What do you need for making ribbon hair bows?

25mm Satin Ribbon, Purple
25mm Polyester Ribbon, Flower, Purple
15mm Handmade Polymer Clay Beads, Flower, Medium Orchid
8mm Acrylic Beads Imitation Pearl, White
50mm Headpins
Scissors
Hot Glue Gun

How to make purple ribbon bow hair clip?

Step 1: make two satin ribbon pieces

1st, cut out a strip of satin ribbon measuring about 20cm and fold one end measuring 5cm downwards with deviation to right a little;
2nd, turn the end to the left as the picture shows;
3rd, turn the bottom end again and pinch it with natural ruffles;
4th, glue the end, and then do the same to the other end. Cut the ribbon from the middle.

Step 2: make two polyester ribbon rolls

1st, cut out two strips of polyester ribbons measuring 6cm or so;
2nd, roll one strip at an angle starting with a corner;
3rd, secure the end with glue when you get a roll with length of 4cm;
4th, repeat the steps to make the other roll.

Step 3: add charms and glue ribbons

1st, slide five imitation pearls on five headpins respectively;
2nd, attach five headpins to the hair barrette orderly by wrapping the wire around the front side of hair barrette;
3rd, glue two satin ribbon pieces on the hair barrette with both ends next to each other;
4th, glue two polyester ribbon rolls on satin ribbons in the same way.
