How to Make a Multi Strand Leather and Bead Bracelet for Fall Seasons

Making leather and bead bracelet is an exciting new trend in jewelry making. Inspired by the famous friendship bracelet made with string, we made this leather and bead bracelet for someone who prefers to wear textured cowhide leather cord with gorgeous jade beads. Within 15 or 20 minutes you can finish this multi strand leather bracelet.

Supplies needed for a leather and bead bracelet:

8mm Natural Mashan Jade Beads

3mm Silver Spacer Beads

Tibetan Bead Cap

1mm Cowhide Leather Cord

Hot Melt Glue Gun

How to make the multi strand leather and bead bracelet?

Step 1: Make the start loop with leather cord

1st, cut 3 lengths of leather cord, two 80cm and one 100cm;

2nd, align one end of all three leather cord;

3rd, at the center location, use the longer cord end to do about 2cm long wraps;

4th, gather up all the ends and keep wrapping with same end;

5th, fasten the wraps by two half hitches.

Step 2: Braid the first jade bead strand

1st, take three leather cords and string one 8mm jade bead on the outermost one;

2nd, braid the three cord ends to approximately 1cm long;

3rd, keep stringing the 8mm jade bead on outermost cord end and braiding the 1cm long 3-strand pattern;

4th, stop when the length fit your wrist snugly. Fix the ending part temporarily by a half hitch.

Step 3: Create the second braided strand

Repeat all the steps above using 3mm spacer beads and the rest three leather cords.

Step 4: Design an ingenious closure with Tibetan bead cap

1st, unfasten the half hitch at end of jade bead strand and tie an overhand knot with all six cord ends;

2nd, pick out one cord end, string the Tibetan bead cap and one 3mm spacer bead on. Thread the leather cord back through the bead cap. Push it towards the overhand knot;

3rd, tie another overhand knot next to the bead cap;

4th, keep 5mm leather cord at end and seal the knots by glue gun.
