How to Make Hand-Rolled Felt Beads for Jewelry Making at Home

1. Pour warm water and a little dish or liquid hand soap into a small bowl. Too much soap will make the bead cannot cling together.
 
2. Pull the wool roving apart lengthwise, the amount of wool roving determine your bead size.
 
3. Twist the wool at different angles with your fingers into a ball.
 
4. Hold the ball and dip it into the bowl with soapy water for a while.
 
5. Palm the ball and start to roll it around gently with a little soapy water until you feel the ball become firm and tight. Too much pressure will destroy the shape so the strength should be light.
 
6. Dip the bead in very cold water to make it shrink and finalize the shape.
 
7. Soak excess water of the wet bead with a towel, and then put the bead aside to dry.
 
8. Stab a hole through the bead with a needle.
