Kid’s Craft Idea - Make a fun Christmas Tree Centerpiece with Ribbon and Felt

Making Christmas decorations all by yourself can add warmth and festival touch to your room, and it will be especially meaningful if the kids are involved. So, in today’s project we’ll learn how to make a Christmas tree centerpiece by using ribbons, felt, rhinestone chain, a jingle bell charm, and a recycled bottle cap.

Supplies needed in the Christmas tree decoration:

Felt
16mm Red Satin Ribbon
10mm Green Satin Ribbon
Alloy Pendants
Rhinestone Chain
Sewing Thread
Needle
Hot Melt Glue Gun
Scissors

How to make the Christmas tree decoration?

Step 1: Make a cone with felt

1st, cut a sectorial piece out of the felt;
2nd, roll the sectorial felt to make a cone;
3rd, sew the top and bottom;
4th, adhere the rest parts by using glue gun.

Step 2: Add the red & green ribbons

1st, glue the red ribbon to the top of cone;
2nd, wrap the ribbon around the cone. Finally, glue the ribbon at the bottom of cone;
3rd, take the green ribbon and glue it onto the top of cone about 15~20cm from starting;
4th, wrap the green ribbon around in the same direction to cover the rest exposed felt. Finally, fasten with glue once reached the bottom.

Step 3: Adorn semi-finished Christmas tree

1st, stack and sew the leftover 15~20cm green ribbon at top of the tree;
2nd, glue the selected Christmas charm on;
3rd, wrap an extra strip of rhinestone chain to make the ribbon Christmas tree be more eye-catching!

Step 4: Design a base for the Christmas tree

1st, stuff the felt cone with fabric scraps or leftover felt. Finally, seal with a round felt piece;
2nd, roll another felt strap to create a tree stump;
3rd, find a red bottle cap as flowerpot;



4th, glue the three parts.

Done!
