How to Make a Beaded Snowflake Pendant Necklace for Christmas

Here, you’ll learn how to make a beaded snowflake with 6mm bicone glass beads and 3mm round seed beads. Though it’s a bit of time-consuming, you only need to learn one basic branch to complete the entire beaded snowflake pattern. It’s actually fun and easy!

Supplies needed for making a beaded snowflake:

How to start the beaded snowflake pendant necklace?

Step 1: Make the center part of snowflake pendant

1st, cut an 80cm piece of tiger tail wire and make a beaded loop out of six 3mm round seed beads in its center location;
2nd, on the right end, string the beads in orders: one 6mm bicone glass bead, five 3mm round seed beads and one 6mm bicone glass bead. Then, take the left wire end to thread through the last 6mm bicone glass bead for creating a beaded loop;
3rd, on the right end, string the beads in orders: five 3mm round seed beads and one 6mm bicone glass bead. Then, thread the left wire end through the last 6mm bicone glass bead for another bead loop;
4th, repeat the 3rd procedure for the next three loops;
5th, in the last loop, thread the left wire through the adjacent 3mm seed bead and then the 6mm bicone glass bead added firstly. Next, add two 3mm seed beads per wire and cross through another seed bead as picture shows.

Step 2: Make the six corners of your snowflake

1st, make three beaded loops out of four 3mm seed beads;
2nd, exit the wire ends at the 2nd loop by threading backwards;
3rd, string three 3mm seed beads per wire to make the 4-bead loop;
4th, continually thread the wires backwards;
5th, thread the wires through the center part to exit them at the center seed bead in next bead loop. At present, the rest work is repeat the procedures 1~4 for the rest five corners;
6th, once finished all corners, you can tie a knot or thread the leftover threads through beads to get them stuck firmly. Trim off any other excess wires with pliers if necessary.

Step 3: Make a necklace with the beaded snowflake pendant

1st, cut a 40~50cm piece of leather cord;
2nd, slide the snowflake pendant to the center of leather cord;
3rd, overlapping the two ends of leather cord and then tie two sliding knots at proper location;
4th, tighten the two knots, keep 1cm cord at both ends and trim the excess off.

Done!
